The Beast in the East, Scotland’s oldest metal fest, Hordes X, is back for its SIXTEENTH edition!!!
Featuring two days of stacked extreme metal and old school bands (plus some curveballs), the influential live platform returns to the twin venues of Hidden and Music Hall Dundee, Friday and Saturday September 18th and 19th. A first wave of artists appearing at the 2026 assault are soon to be announced, after which the initial batch of applications will be opened up. Early Bird tickets have just gone on sale at £15. This covers the main event on Saturday, operating across both stages, with no clashes. It also grants free access to the warm-up event at Hidden on the Friday. For those who can’t make the full show, separate Friday tickets will be available on the door, but priority will be given to full-ticket holders.

A bastion of emerging heavy talent North of the UK border, it has been the place to discover your new favourite riff peddlers for a decade and a half. As a well-curated collection of hot grassroots artists, it has provided an early platform for bands such as Party Cannon, King Witch, Dog Tired, Krysthla, and Ramage Inc. It also dropped the first UK festival headline slots for Saor and Hellripper, as well as top billed firsts and returns for acts like Acid Reign, Thulcandra, Man Must Die, Trivax, and The Infernal Sea. The next round is fast approaching!
