Bloodstock Open Air’s live initiative, Metal 2 The Masses, is returning to Scotland for 2027!!!

The time has come once more, and Slow Dragon Music is scouring Alba for artists and venues, taking M2TM around the country! Since 2020, you have helped us to level the playing field, making this not just an event series for one city, but a celebration of grassroots heaviness throughout the land! Now, the campaign begins for 2027!

We are currently building up this year’s rotation of venues for the Heats and Semi-finals. The Grand Final has now been announced for Saturday, May 22nd, at La Belle Angele, in Scotland’s capital city, Edinburgh. While all the gears are being pulled into place, we are taking notes of interest from bands wishing to apply for the 2027 round!

How to apply:

Simply email us at slowdragonmusic@gmail.com, with some background on your band (!!!including location!!!), plus links to your music, or even live show videos! Entry is open to bands from anywhere in Scotland. If you’re unsure whether your are the right fit, too heavy, or not heavy enough, just have a look at the Bloodstock Open Air lineups over the years…

Our aim is to bring M2TM to the local scenes and bands throughout Scotland. Participating acts will be offered slots in their nearest Heat, with winners progressing to their nearest Semi-final, before a furious five head to the Grand Final! One of those on the last stage will be the top runner up from across all of the Semi-finals. Progress from the Heats is decided by a 50/50 audience vote vs judges decision, and 25/75 in the Semi-finals (in favour of the judges). A purely industry panel selection will take one deserving band all the way to Bloodstock 2027!

Bloodstock are also offering one band from all of the Metal 2 The Masses regions a slot a the 2027 Bloodstock Winter Gathering. Check out the promotional video for this year’s event below:

More details are coming soon. Until then, let’s get ready to MAKE THIS A LOUD ONE!!!
