Dragon Fire: Odense MetalFest 2026

Danish heavy music meet, Odense MetalFest, is just around the corner, with an obliterating lineup once again.
Hosted in the Musikhuset Posten venue, in the heart of Odense, this two stage event offers up two stages of brutal music, heavily dosed with death metal and hardcore, from grassroots to established names. Taking place October 23rd and 24th, 2026, this year’s edition is topped by French deathgrind extremists, Benighted, and Aarhus death metallers, Ill Disposed. Hitting the floor before them is a stacked lineup, including Grand Cadaver, Cabal, Celestial Scourge, and a load more. Odense MetalFest is a hidden gem on the European extreme metal circuit. Maybe it’s time for you to make the trip…
Organiser, Jacob Schultz, previously told SDM:
“We are ready! We have an ultra brutal and neck-breaking package of bands ready to take down Musikhuset Posten on October 23/24 for Odense Metalfest 2026! Who are you looking forward to hearing? Is it Benighted, who needs no introduction with their deathgrind, or is it the amazing Grand Cadavar, with singer Stanne from none other than Dark Tranquillity in the front? It will be the first time they play live in Denmark! Or how about Illdisposed, Speedslut, Pertinax from our own latitudes or the amazing Celestial Scourge from Norway, with members from Blood Red Throne. Or are you into in your face hardcore with Dutch Payback and Hometown Crew”
For Slow Dragon Music, this will be the third pilgrimage to this particular gathering of heavy heads. We previously attended in 2023 and 2025. There is a certain charm about it, bridging the gap between the legendary artists and the local and international underground. We’ve made friends, discovered bands, and found new destination event we would be happy to make permanent addition to our yearly calendar.
