Extreme metal project, Torii, prepares for Despaire, an album to make your incoming Winter that bit more bleak.

Torii actually has a stack of albums, ranging all the way back to 2012. Sure, the world didn’t end according to supposed Mayan prediction, but the soundtrack was certainly delivered. From the artist:
Torii, the prolific solo-project masterminded by Bill Masino, will release new album Despaire on December 18. After a five-year wait, the band’s seventh album continues the journey through the depths with a cathartic variety of emotions and intensity. Leaving the black metal beginnings behind, Torii is drifting through psychedelic fields of post-metal, death-doom, and doom.
Drawing inspiration from the poem The Faerie Queene by Edmund Spenser, Despaire weaves through dreams and nightmares. The album represents the constant push forward to overcome darkness and make the most of the time that we have left before shuffling off this mortal coil.
