Midnight – Satanic Attack Live!

Release Date: 6 November 2026||Genre: Black n Roll, Black Metal, Speed Metal, Punk||Label: Metal Blade Records
Cleveland’s own Midnight leaves you feeling filthy, feral and floored!
Batten down the hatches! Midnight brings sleaze, speed and the blackened mayhem of 2011’s landmark release, Satanic Royalty, to the live arena with Satanic Attack Live! A sweaty, smutty document of aural debauchery, captured in May this year at two sold-out shows at Hollywood’s Knucklehead, as part of the band’s Satanic Royalty 15th Anniversary World Tour.
For the uninitiated, Midnight deal in a foul-mouthed cocktail of first-wave black metal, speed metal and punk rock. Conceived by Jamie Walters, better known to the underground as Athenar, the Cleveland outfit began life in 2003 as a solo project following the breakup of his punk band Boulder. Athenar remains its one constant, keeping the wheels turning through every incarnation with with an unwavering commitment to speed, sleaze and musical excess.
“Did I ever think there would be a Midnight live in concert record album? Haha shit naw!” scoffs assailing architect, Athenar. “But if you’re reading this you are probably holding a copy in your bloody semen/leukorrhea-dripping paws. With the help of D.K. Vagslay, Iron Possessor and about 300 dirt merchant headbanging Hollywood sleazeballs it was possible to concoct such a document of disgust.”
Recorded by Mark Borders and mixed and mastered by Zach Rippy, the album hurls fifteen tracks of unfiltered, unrestrained, and unadulterated Midnight mayhem. Reigning in hell and screaming like a storm, the ten songs from Satanic Royalty appear in their original running order, with five additional cuts thrown into the inferno including Shock Til Blood, T.A.P. and Fucking Speed and Darkness.
Consider this your NSFW warning…
“Please don’t expect a glossy Strangers in the Night or Live and Dangerous sound on this recording (although the cover may suggest it!). This is right down the dirty alley of Misfits Evilive, Jerry Lee Lewis Live at the Star Club or any ripping Slayer bootleg from 1985,” explains Athenar. “If you listen through headphones you can actually hear speed being snorted and cheap beer being spilled then being licked up from the floor by some degenerate. My kinda people! This is as raw as you can get.”
“No Unleashed in the Studio or Unalive! here,” Athenar snorts. “All the popcorn tempos, forgotten lyrics and shit notes are there for your taste buds to savor. I would love to hear what kind of live album Steely Dan would record while wearing masks, leather, spikes, bullets and chains in a 100 degree smokey club full of rabid maniacs throwing beer on your wah-wah pedal, knocking microphones into your teeth, clawing at your crotch, headbanging into your headstock and generally doing what they should be doing at a Midnight concert! I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
Fifteen years after Satanic Royalty first unleashed its blackened assault, Satanic Attack Live! finds Midnight every bit as vicious. Missed notes, rogue tempos and lyrical casualties come crashing together in fifteen tracks of glorious sonic destruction. No polish, no pretence, just Cleveland’s finest raising hell and leaving nothing but wreckage in their wake.
