Skaith, the new Scottish heavy riff unit, featuring members of Threshold Sicks and At Their Mercy, pick up the pace for their second single, Wasp Bastards. Faster, thrashier, and a bit less serious, it follow previous track, Bleed For You, both to be found on their upcoming demo EP, …A Round Of Apathy… (recorded live at Perth based Breakout Music Studios).
“Wasp Bastards is a great example of the riff writing between myself and Barron.” says guitarist, Paul. “We don’t really play ‘fast’ fast, but we do a kind of group ‘slowfast,’ which is what we’ve got here. Even though we wrote the two main riffs separately. They just work together. Don’t worry. There’s still some right sludgy stank bits at the bottom… Oh, and we all think wasps are proper bastards.“

Bringing together elements of hardcore, death, black, thrash, sludge and post metal, Skaith are a band with solid roots in the Scottish scene.
All tracing their musical endeavours back to before the turn of the century, it’s no surprise they lean on old school approaches. There’s no fat. No solos. Just bruising riffs. And possibly some nonsense about Point Break and the immortal 007…
