The guys in Permacrisis got started early in their collective quest for thrash metal. Still very young, there are surely new challenges for them around every corner. Yet, they handle them with a maturity and wisdom which sometimes escapes older bands.

“The biggest challenge for us has probably been our age” the band admit.

“Being teenagers for the majority of our time together has meant we’ve had to work extra hard to get opportunities and have had limitations in terms of what venues we can play. The goal was never to just be a good band for our age, we wanted to be a good band as a whole if that makes sense. It also meant that getting a stable lineup took us a while, as we had to find people similar age to us that also shared the same passion for metal.“

It is a attitude, though, which has already served them well, actually seeing the band welcomed onto stages both in their hometown, and across Scotland.

They state: “We went into our first headliner with the simple goal to make it an awesome show with a killer lineup.“

“We were fortunate enough to have made friends with the legends in H8teball and Aklias who kindly stepped in as support. The gig went beyond expectations with us selling out The Kings and playing our favourite gig as of yet! If we were to pick another highlight it would have to be playing at The Tooth and Claw up in Inverness as the trip up and down was beautiful or getting to the Semi-finals of M2TM last year! One of the biggest things we’ve learned from bands we look up to in the scene is to play every show like it’s our last, whether it be in front of 10 or 1000 people always to give the same energy.“

As for recorded material, just last month, they saw the digital release of their second musical work, the single, The Untrue Endeavour.

“The latest release, The Untrue Endeavour,” frontman Tadashi Merrett explains, “is inner anger and beauty portrayed and compacted into 5 minutes.“

“And it’s dedicated to every single persons to be honest and true to ourselves when we set goals in life. This song has challenged us, writing and performing. I remember the song being a lot slower when I first heard the demo… When we write songs, they begin as regular riffs and little voice notes, but as time progresses, we start imagining how it would land to the audience and how they would remember, live and recorded. Our next single is in the process of being mixed and should be released on March 15th!“
