Where some other Heats are stacked with brand new talent, Dundee is home to some returning heroes. The longest running of these is 80s thrash/OG black/speed metal outfit, Evil Blood. Frontman, Bat Conan has been around some stages.

Ever secretive, prefering to retain some mystery, he summarises:

“Evil Blood was formed in 1982, and next year is gonna be 45 YEARS of Evil Blood. We’ll keep gigging & going cause we are unbreakable…666 hails to all!!!“

They recently refueled their ranks with former members of some solid Scottish bands. It seems to have pushed the project into a new gear.

“Yeah, last year we recruited a drummer from Volcano X (Gav) and a bass player from H8teball (Jahren), and did lots of gigs, including couple with my friend, Abaddon (ex-Venom). Thanks to the dedication of the new members, everything is going great.“

Keeping it brief, Bat concludes: “The new line up, in my humble opinion, is the best so far, and it is just helping solidify the Evil Blood sound, and brings the best in all of us. In the future, hopefully (we will play) Bloodstock Festival, and the 45 year anniversary celebrations of Venom’s Welcome To Hell, at Kit Fest in Germany.”
