After kicking things off as a band just in time, Glasgow slasher metal band, A Dose Of Death, dove straight into Metal 2 The Masses in 2025, making it to the Grand Final. Embracing the spirit of the initiative, they’re now back for 2026!
“We had an absolute blast at last year’s Metal 2 The Masses.”
“The whole experience felt massive for us, especially considering we were still such a new band at the time” they state. “Our Heat 1 show in 2025 was only our 4th gig together, so stepping onto a stage like that was huge for our confidence and growth. One of the biggest things we learned from M2TM is that playing live isn’t just about performing songs, it’s about putting on a full show and creating a connection with the audience. That’s something we’ve carried with us into every performance since. We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who comes out to support live music and keeps the scene alive.“
“At some of the gigs we’ve played since, we’ve even had people, who weren’t originally there to see us, come up afterwards and say they remembered us from the Edinburgh final. Moments like that mean a lot to us. We also met some fantastic bands throughout the M2TM journey. We’ve stayed in touch with a few through social media, and it’s been great watching them continue to grow, tour, and push forward. Seeing that has definitely inspired us and motivated us to start planning a UK tour of our own in the near future.“
It’s not just live where ADOD display the ability to put the unusual into action. Last December, they released the seasonal slaughter single, Christmassacre.
“Our vocalist is mad on Christmas, and had written many a Christmas song in previous years, much more family friendly ones just to add” the band divulge.
“We were offered a gig late December of 2024 and we thought “Hey let’s see how a metal Christmas single might go down”. We figured in this mad world there had to be some twisted true crime tale that took place at Christmas time. Which lead us to Bruce Pardo, the perpetrator behind the Covina Christmas Massacre of 2008. Not being shy of writing a few catchy Christmas jingles in the past, the song came together pretty quickly and it went down great at the first gig we played it, then we knew we had a year to record it and release it for Christmas 2025. It’s a shame we only get to play it live once a year.“

“This Is Who I Am When Nobody Is Watching focuses on three serial killers. All very different in the way they kill and the way they choose their victims. However, they all seemed to live their lives as normal as you and me. They had friends, they worked normal 9-5’s, some were married and even had kids…all whilst living a double life where they hunted and stalked and killed.“
“That’s who they really were when nobody was watching.”
“The three maniacs we wrote this EP about include Israel Keyes, (the most terrifying serial killer you’ve probably never heard of). Jeffrey Dahmer, who I assume everyone knows the story of, and we also have Dennis Rader, also known as B.T.K, a name he gave himself which stands for Bind, Torture, Kill.“
